Featured Partnership: Creating a new gin at the Rundle Bar with Wildlife Distillery, Canmore, AB

Local partnerships have been the cornerstone of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts community support pillar as we look to bring to you authentically local sensory experiences.

The latest community venture is a unique partnership between Rundle bar at The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and Wild Life Distillery to create the Rundle Bar Gin with it’s distinct flavour profile.

We spoke to one of the co-founders of Wild Life Distillery, Matt Whitmer, who was very excited for the partnership, having grown up in the Banff region. The team experimented with not just new flavours, bringing in more citrus notes, but also the unique colour that is a result of infusion with butterfly pea flower.

This partnership comes at the right time – the historic reopening of The Rundle Bar. The space, which was originally the lobby of the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel till the late 90’s, has been renovated to a 2-storey bar. The bar is accentuated with a rolling library ladder and custom bronze and wood engraving, and a dedicated stage featuring a grand piano to create the perfect après atmosphere.

With this new gin, the Rundle Bar, will be serving cocktails featuring the new creation. Those who wish to enjoy the gin at home can also purchase the bottle at STOCK Food & Drink.
